Four Simple Salad Dressings
Homemade salad dressings are easy to make, fresh, and taste great on any garden or wild greens. These four should cover just about any need that arises. My recipe serves about 4 side salad portions. The 2-to-1 vinegar and olive oil makes very it easy to make larger batches. The step of adding hot water to the salt sounds unnecessary but believe me, it will make your dressing pop!
Simple Vinaigrette: 2 tbsp red wine vinegar, 4 tbsp olive oil, salt
Balsamic Vinaigrette: 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 4 tbsp olive oil, salt
Italian: 2 tbsp red wine vinegar, 4 tbsp olive oil, salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Honey Mustard Vinaigrette: 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 4 tbsp olive oil, salt, 1/2 tsp mustard, fat squirt of raw honey
Step 1:
For all dressings add 1/2 tsp salt to a small bowl and add a few drizzles of hot water. Roll the bowl around to allow the salt to dissolve in the water. Whisk with fork as you add each ingredient.
Step 2:
Simple Vinaigrette: Add red wine vinegar and olive oil to salt water.
Balsamic Vinaigrette: Add balsamic vinegar and olive oil to salt water.
Italian: Add garlic powder and oregano to salt water and whisk with a fork. Then add red wine vinegar and olive oil.
Honey Mustard: Add mustard and honey to salt water and whisk with a fork. Then add apple cider vinegar and olive oil.
That’s it!
